Hey everyone, I recently bought a beautiful sheepskin coat, and I'm worried about how to take care of it. The leather is so delicate, and I don’t want it to lose its softness over time. I was wondering if anyone here has any tips on sheepskin or shearling care? Do you think I should get it altered to make sure it lasts longer? Maybe someone has experience with alterations for these kinds of materials?

I’ve also had some shearling pieces, and I agree with what was mentioned above. Another thing to keep in mind is that shearling can lose its softness if it's exposed to direct sunlight for too long. So storing it properly is key. It’s good to keep it in a cool, dry place and avoid hanging it up in places that are too warm, like near a heater.
